STRAIGHT-TALKING German MEP Hans-Olaf Henkel has urged the European Union to cave in and lighten the demands placed on Britain for the transition period after Brexit to save European businesses.

Mr Henkel urged the European Commission’s chief  negotiator Michel Barnier and the European Parliament’s divorce coordinator, Guy Verhofstadt, to “stop this talk” after aiming a series of harsh demands in Britain’s direction..
